Cosmetic Bonding

Cosmetic bonding (also known as composite bonding or dental bonding) is a dental procedure which uses composite material to improve and enhance the appearance of your teeth (suitable for chipped, cracked or discoloured teeth). Bonding is a very conservative treatment which requires minimal or no preparation to your natural teeth. It can disguise flaws on anterior teeth which have uneven surfaces / edges and can even reshape teeth to close gaps.

Cosmetic bonding is the process of applying and moulding dental resin (strong filling material) to cover up the damage on your tooth / teeth. Composite is available in many tooth coloured shades so it can be easily matched to your natural tooth shade. The composite material is applied and moulded in thin layers until the desired height and shape is achieved. Once the composite is bonded to the teeth (using blue ultra violet light), it is polished to smooth and refine the shape and surface, resulting in a natural restoration which looks and feels like natural teeth.
